The accommodation was all different, but all were good. We met many very friendly people and we felt welcome. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape – even the rain and we enjoyed the walking. The luggage transfer was perfectly organized too.

Our second walking holiday with ‘Byways’. Again well organised, in great countryside and with a good selection of B &BS.

Byways Breaks provided an excellent service. With other long distance trails we have always arranged accommodation and luggage transfer ourselves. However, with Offa’s Dyke Path we knew the remote nature of parts of the path might make the logistics more challenging. So, having come up with some dates and a rough itinerary, we went to Byways Breaks for their accommodation booking and luggage transfer service. They worked with us to adapt and hone our plan and delivered an itinerary that fitted our requirements. We stayed in some wonderful places and the luggage transfers worked seamlessly. On just one or two occasions it took Byways a bit of time to respond to calls or emails. This may be because they are a small outfit but they always responded. However, a sudden and last minute change (due to a medical emergency at one of our B&B hosts) was dealt with very promptly, efficiently and effectively. We became aware that Byways personally check out the accommodation they book people into. One B&B host told us that he takes bookings from three companies providing Offa’s Dyke Path itineraries. Byways was the only one of the three to have visited. Another B & B confirmed that she had been visited. We think that says it all really.

Found the service from Byways excellent throughout and we really enjoyed the cycling holiday in Cheshire and Shropshire. Excellent directions and maps. Lovely countryside, cycling along quiet lanes and visiting interesting places, villages and small towns. Good standard of overnight accommodation and always a pub or cafe somewhere along the way for suitable breaks during the day.

OUr third trip with Byways and always been very pleased with the service and organising. Accommodation standards varied from 3 – 5* but all hosts very supportive.
